The Power of Love

The love shared between dogs and humans is perhaps the purest display of love in this world.  What do we love most about dogs?  I think it’s that they’re so easy to love.

Does this mean loving is actually easy?  Well, with dogs it is, but we all know love isn’t always easy.  However, it is always simple.  Yes, love is actually really simple.  That’s why even a dog can experience it and reciprocate.

We know our canine companions love us back because we can feel it.  They don’t need language to convey their love to us.  Real love has a frequency we recognize that transcends our physical world.  The Solfeggio frequency associated with love is 528 Hz, and it is our sonic connection to the natural world.

ALL living things… yes, plants included, are capable of receiving and giving love, naturally.  Of course, we tend to relate more readily to mammalian behavior, but even reptiles and insects have been known to interact in a loving, affectionate way.

Why Love?

It is my firm belief that humans don’t truly get to know the love that Mother Nature provides unless we honor our heavenly role as stewards on this planet.  Anyone who neglects or abuses animals as well as carelessly pollutes the environment is denying one of their most basic and practical spiritual duties.  And as a result, they will not get to reap its priceless reward.  Further, they may never even realize what they’re missing out on unless they change their ways by pitching in to do their part.  Until then, they’ll remain separate from the natural world harboring an inner void that no amount of money or mindless consumption can possibly fill.

To be clear, love—as a unifying force, not just a feeling based on fleeting emotions—is NOT an obligation, which is different from a ‘duty’ that aligns with your deeper values.  Love is also NOT transactional nor limited in supply.  Rather, love is infinitely powerful.  And dare I say what hurts the most when it comes to love is when we decide we must withhold our love… Something didn’t turn out as we had hoped, someone disappointed or betrayed us, or we’ve been burned one too many times in relationships and vow to never let it happen again… so we close off our hearts instead.

Well, I assert that nothing robs us more of our innate power than withholding our love.

This is at the root of why the world is SO sick, tired and fed up these days.  We have an epidemic of people who don’t feel safe to express themselves, and they hold themselves back much more than they even realize and call it being “smart”.  This is not harmless.  We may not know of the pain and trauma that caused someone to close themselves off to love, but sooner or later the effects of that suppression will be felt no matter how hard that person tries to hide or stuff it down with toxic behavior.

So what do we do about this deficiency of love in our world?  Well, I say it’s high time we humans start being loving NO MATTER WHAT.  What does this look like?  Only your presence, moment by moment, can reveal that to you because love is always & ONLY available right here, right now.  And it’s simply a matter of recognizing this truth while committing to being our true selves that allows us to experience love in all its divine glory.

The time is now in other words. Let’s go do what makes us feel alive and do it right NOW.  But notice I didn’t say what makes us feel “good”.  Sure, you may feel happy about going for a jog, creating a work of art or engaging in deep conversation with a loved one, but the feeling should not be the goal.  It’s the process of growth, meaning the steps of development and refinement, that’s the focus, that’s what transforms us.  And that is the purpose of love: transformation.  Because it’s through transformation that we rise towards our highest potential, which is all God really wants from us because then we get to be closer to Him.

So let me end by asking you to take a moment to imagine the difference it would make if being loving wasn’t seen as a risk but rather, what it truly means to be ALIVE in our world; and that there is no greater pursuit than to cultivate and spread love with the collective.

Doesn’t that sound like the kind of world you’d love to live in?!  I know it sure does to me.  Plain and simple.

Be Blessed,

VME
